Itinerary
Embark on an early morning journey to the Masai Mara National Reserve, a rare haven where wildlife thrives in a relatively undisturbed environment, reminiscent of the vast numbers that once freely roamed the African plains and forests.
Positioned at the northern edge of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is witness to the breathtaking seasonal migration of countless Wildebeest, Zebras, and their accompanying predators. Arrive in time for a satisfying lunch and partake in an afternoon game drive.
Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge.
Optional excursion at an extra cost, an early-morning hot-air balloon flight. A champagne-style breakfast is included. Following breakfast, engage in a full-day game drive with a provided packed lunch. The reserve is renowned for its black-manned lions, showcasing abundant resident wildlife. It stands as one of the rare locations where encountering the big five during a morning's game drive is a distinct possibility.
Remarkably, some cheetahs are so accustomed to human presence that they seek shade beneath vehicles, and a few even climb onto the roof for a better vantage point to observe potential prey.
For bird enthusiasts, the reserve boasts an impressive birdlife with almost 500 recorded species, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.
