Itinerary

This destination stands as one of the last remaining places on earth where wildlife continues to thrive relatively undisturbed, mirroring the numbers that once freely roamed the plains and forests of Africa.

Positioned at the northern tip of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara serves as the stage for the awe-inspiring seasonal migration of thousands of Wildebeest, Zebras, and their accompanying predators. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to immerse yourself in the captivating wildlife.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Maasai Mara.

Following breakfast, embark on a full day of game driving with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is renowned for its black-manned lions, and it boasts abundant resident wildlife, making it one of the rare places where encountering the big five during a morning game drive is possible. Notably, some cheetahs in the area are remarkably tame, seeking shelter under vehicles to escape the hot sun, and a few even climb onto the roof to gain a better view of potential prey.

For bird enthusiasts, the Maasai Mara offers a diverse array of species, with almost 500 recorded. This includes 16 species of eagles, along with numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the natural wonders of the Maasai Mara Reserve.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara as you drive out of the National Reserve. Following the necessary border formalities, proceed with the journey to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

While it will be a long day of driving, the game drives both in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible, offering unique opportunities for wildlife encounters. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge in the Serengeti.

As you reach the hillside and gaze ahead, the vast Serengeti unfolds before you, stretching as far as the eye can see. Serengeti, translated as "endless plains" in Kiswahili, encompasses a vast expanse of 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers). This park is home to over 2 million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson's gazelles.

The area's abundance of prey attracts large predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, as the wildlife migrates throughout the park. Additionally, numerous smaller animals such as rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares inhabit the region, along with an impressive array of nearly 500 bird species.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive en-route to the campsite, soaking in the diverse and abundant wildlife. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a public campsite or a private tented camp/lodge in the Serengeti.

Commence your day with an early wake-up for a morning safari before breakfast, offering the opportunity to observe animals when they are most active and witness the breathtaking sunrise over the African Savannah—an experience of unparalleled beauty.

After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, known as the 8th natural wonder of the world. The crater features towering walls 2,000 feet high, and its floor spans 102 square miles, creating a virtual Noah's Ark. This crater is home to almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino.

Renowned for having the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet, the crater encompasses a river, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingoes, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants residing in the crater boast exceptionally large tusks, a result of the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses, making them among the most remarkable elephants you'll ever witness.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the wonders of Ngorongoro.

Commence the day with an early start as you descend into the crater floor for a remarkable morning of wildlife exploration in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. Following the game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch near the scenic Hippo Lake.

After lunch, embark on a short game drive before ascending the crater and exiting the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Arusha. The plan is to return to Arusha around 5 pm, with flexibility to accommodate any flights or other scheduling considerations.
