Itinerary

Your journey begins in Istanbul, a city unlike any other on Earth. For over 2,000 years, Istanbul served as the capital of three mighty empires, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman, making it a living museum layered with history, faith, and culture.

Upon arrival, you are met by our local representative and transferred to Arden City Hotel, located in Sultanahmet, the historical heart of the city. This area was once the political and religious center of empires that ruled vast portions of the known world. Staying here allows you to absorb Istanbul slowly, hearing the call to prayer echo between ancient walls and sensing the rhythm of a city that has never stopped evolving. The remainder of the day is free to recover from travel and begin connecting with the atmosphere of old Istanbul.

Insider Tip:Step outside in the evening when the crowds thin out—Sultanahmet after dark offers a peaceful, almost cinematic experience.

Today reveals Istanbul’s unique geography and imperial elegance. Begin at Beylerbeyi Palace, a 19th-century Ottoman summer residence built along the Bosphorus. This palace reflects how the Ottomans blended European architectural styles with traditional Eastern aesthetics, featuring crystal chandeliers, ornate ceilings, and marble halls designed to impress visiting dignitaries.

Continue to Çamlıca Hill, the city’s highest panoramic viewpoint. From here, you gain a true understanding of Istanbul’s vast scale—bridges linking continents, minarets rising across the skyline, and the Bosphorus cutting through the city like a living artery.   A Bosphorus cruise follows along the legendary Bosphorus, where palaces, mosques, and historic mansions line the shores.

This waterway was once the most strategically important passage between Europe and Asia. End the day at the Spice Bazaar, where aromas of saffron, sumac, dried fruits, and Turkish delight reflect centuries of trade along the Silk Road.

Insider Tip:Notice how architecture changes on each side of the Bosphorus—this contrast tells the story of Istanbul better than any book.

Today is a deep dive into Istanbul’s imperial soul. Begin at Hagia Sophia, one of the most influential buildings ever constructed. Its massive dome redefined architecture and symbolized power, faith, and innovation across centuries.

Continue to the Blue Mosque, celebrated for its symmetry, harmony, and more than 20,000 hand-painted İznik tiles. Unlike Hagia Sophia’s grandeur, this mosque embodies spiritual balance and elegance. Walk through the Hippodrome of Constantinople, once the social and sporting center of Byzantine life, where political power was displayed through public events.

Explore Topkapi Palace, the administrative heart of the Ottoman Empire for nearly 400 years. Here, you learn how sultans governed, lived, and protected imperial secrets. After time in the bazaar, fly to Cappadocia.

Insider Tip:Pause in Topkapi’s courtyards—the palace layout itself tells the story of Ottoman hierarchy and control.

Welcome to Cappadocia, a region shaped by volcanic eruptions and human ingenuity. An optional sunrise hot-air balloon flight reveals a surreal landscape of valleys and rock formations glowing in golden light.   Explore Red Valley, where iron-rich volcanic rock creates dramatic colors. Visit Çavuşin, an ancient settlement carved directly into cliffs, abandoned only in recent history.

Descend into an underground city—an astonishing multi-level refuge once used to shelter thousands during invasions.   Dove Valley reflects both natural beauty and cultural symbolism, while Cavuşin Castle offers strategic views over ancient routes.

Insider Tip:Inside underground cities, look for ventilation shafts—engineering brilliance from thousands of years ago.

Begin with panoramic views over Göreme, then explore the Open-Air Museum, home to rock-cut churches decorated with remarkably preserved frescoes dating back to early Christianity.

In Avanos, discover pottery traditions passed down for millennia, shaped by clay from the Red River. Devrent Valley invites imagination with naturally sculpted animal-like rock formations, while Paşabağ showcases iconic fairy chimneys once inhabited by monks seeking solitude.

Insider Tip:Ask artisans in Avanos about firing techniques—many still use ancient methods.

Fly to İzmir and journey to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved Roman cities anywhere. Walk its marble streets past the Library of Celsus, temples, fountains, and the Great Theatre, where 25,000 people once gathered.

Visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a place of pilgrimage, and view the remains of the Temple of Artemis—once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Overnight in Kuşadası.

Insider Tip:Notice grooves in the marble streets—left by Roman carts over centuries.

Visit Pamukkale, where mineral-rich thermal waters formed brilliant white terraces resembling frozen waterfalls. Explore Hierapolis, a Roman spa city built around healing waters, complete with temples, baths, and necropolises.

Insider Tip:Walking barefoot enhances the connection between ancient wellness traditions and nature.

After breakfast, transfer for your flight, concluding a journey that spans continents, civilizations, and natural wonders—an experience designed not just to be seen, but deeply understood.
