Itinerary

Embark on your safari with a drive to Lake Bogoria, a destination teeming with wildlife, though many creatures tend to keep a low profile. Exceptionally, the flamingos at the hot springs are a notable highlight. Various animals such as buffalo, hyena, klipspringer, impala, dik-dik, zebra, warthog, and Grant’s gazelle, prefer the remote and less accessible eastern shore. However, the elusive greater kudu might be spotted in various areas.

Interestingly, the flamingos gather in their largest numbers in the shallows on the western shore, where the hot springs flow into the lake, seemingly unaffected by the heat. It's worth noting that the Bogoria fish eagles, adapting to their fishless environment, have developed a unique adaptation—they prey on flamingos. Keep an eye out for other bird species, including avocets, transient pelicans, and migratory steppe eagles.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the natural wonders of Lake Bogoria.

Embark on an early morning adventure with a pick-up, driving to Lake Nakuru National Park. Situated across the equator, to the south of Bogoria, Lake Nakuru is renowned worldwide for its flamingoes. This alkaline lake is acknowledged as one of the natural wonders of the world.

Presently, Lake Nakuru serves as a rhino sanctuary, home to over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos. However, the flamingoes have always been the star attraction, with almost 2 million of them at times, creating a breathtaking deep pink band around the lake's shore. Arrive in time for lunch and indulge in an afternoon game drive.

Conclude the day with dinner and spend the night at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the captivating beauty of Lake Nakuru National Park.

Embark on an early morning journey with a drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. This reserve stands as one of the last remaining places on Earth where wildlife thrives in relatively undisturbed conditions, reminiscent of the vast numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa.

Positioned as the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is witness to the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of Wildebeest, Zebras, and the predators that accompany them. Arrive in time for lunch and embark on an afternoon game drive.

Conclude the day with dinner and spend the night at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the captivating wilderness of Masai Mara.

Following breakfast, engage in a full-day game drive, complemented by a packed lunch for the day's adventure. Masai Mara Reserve is renowned for its impressive black-manned lion population, abundant resident wildlife, and the unique opportunity to encounter the big five during a morning game drive. Some cheetahs in the reserve are remarkably tame, seeking refuge from the hot sun under vehicles, and a few even climb onto the roof to gain a better view of potential prey.

Bird enthusiasts can delight in the diverse avian life, with nearly 500 species recorded, including 16 eagle species, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 vulture species, 8 stork species, 4 bustard species (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 sunbird species.

As the day unfolds, experience the captivating wildlife and natural beauty of Masai Mara, culminating in a serene evening. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at a campsite or lodge, immersed in the allure of the African wilderness.
