Itinerary

Embark on your safari with a drive to Lake Bogoria, a destination teeming with wildlife, though many creatures tend to keep a low profile. Exceptionally, the flamingos at the hot springs are a notable highlight. Various animals such as buffalo, hyena, klipspringer, impala, dik-dik, zebra, warthog, and Grant’s gazelle, prefer the remote and less accessible eastern shore. However, the elusive greater kudu might be spotted in various areas.

Interestingly, the flamingos gather in their largest numbers in the shallows on the western shore, where the hot springs flow into the lake, seemingly unaffected by the heat. It's worth noting that the Bogoria fish eagles, adapting to their fishless environment, have developed a unique adaptation—they prey on flamingos. Keep an eye out for other bird species, including avocets, transient pelicans, and migratory steppe eagles.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the natural wonders of Lake Bogoria.

Accommodation: L.Bogoria Resort and Spa

Set off early in the morning for a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, located just south of Lake Bogoria across the equator. Famous worldwide for its spectacular flamingoes, the lake often turns a brilliant pink as thousands gather along its shores. Lake Nakuru is also a vital sanctuary for over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos, offering a unique opportunity to see these endangered giants in their natural habitat.

Arrive in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive through the park. Glide along the rolling savannahs and shimmering lake shores, keeping an eye out for rhinos grazing peacefully, flamingos wading in the shallows, and giraffes, zebras, and buffalo moving gracefully across the landscape. Bird enthusiasts will delight in spotting pelicans, cormorants, and countless other species, while photographers can capture the stunning contrast of wildlife against the lake’s deep blue and pink hues. Conclude the day with dinner, surrounded by the serene beauty of Lake Nakuru

Accommodation: L. Nakuru Sopa Lodge

Rise early for a scenic drive to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, a land where Africa’s iconic wildlife still roams in abundance across sweeping plains. As part of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara offers a front-row seat to one of the planet’s most dramatic wildlife spectacles: the seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebras, shadowed by lions, cheetahs, and other predators.

After arriving for lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive, venturing into the heart of the reserve. Expect to encounter the Big Five in their natural habitat — from lions resting under acacia trees to elephants moving majestically across the plains. Watch giraffes browsing treetops, herds of zebras grazing together, and, if you’re visiting during migration season, witness the breathtaking sight of thousands of wildebeest moving as one. Birdlife is abundant, with colorful hornbills, vultures, and secretary birds adding life to the golden savannah. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner, soaking in the peaceful sounds and endless horizons of the Mara wilderness

Accommodation: Zebra Plain Mara Camp

After breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive through the legendary Masai Mara Reserve, with a packed lunch in hand for a day of discovery. This iconic wilderness is famous for its impressive black-maned lions, resident herds of elephants, giraffes, and buffalo, and the chance to encounter the Big Five in their natural habitat. Keep your eyes open: some cheetahs here have grown unusually confident, taking refuge under vehicles to escape the midday heat — and on rare occasions, climbing onto rooftops to scout for prey, creating unforgettable wildlife moments.

Bird lovers will be enthralled by the Mara’s remarkable diversity, with nearly 500 recorded species, including 16 eagle species, hawks, falcons, 6 vulture species, 8 stork species, 4 bustard species (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 sunbird species, all set against the golden savannah backdrop.

As the day unfolds, every moment brings new surprises, from grazing zebras and prowling predators to acacia-studded horizons bathed in warm light.

Conclude your adventure with a tranquil evening, enjoying dinner and the sounds of the African wilderness as you settle into your lodge or campsite, fully immersed in the magic of the Masai Mara.

After breakfast, prepare for a full day of exploration in the Masai Mara Reserve, a place where Africa’s wild heart beats strongest. Today, the golden plains unfold before you, home to majestic black-maned lions, roaming elephants, and the elusive Big Five. The Mara never fails to surprise: cheetahs, comfortable in this protected haven, sometimes lounge under safari vehicles or even climb atop them, offering a rare, up-close glimpse of their world.

The skies above are alive with movement, as hundreds of bird species take to the air, from soaring eagles and hunting hawks to stately storks and the impressive Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. Every turn of the track brings something new: a herd of zebras grazing beside a glinting waterhole, a lioness stalking through tall grasses, or a giraffe silhouetted against the fiery sunset.

As the day winds down, return to your lodge or campsite for a quiet evening under the African sky, where the sounds of the wilderness , distant roars, calls of birds, and rustling grasses, remind you why the Mara is one of the world’s most treasured safari destinations.

Dinner is served in this tranquil setting, letting the magic of the Mara linger long after the sun sets

On the following day, start your morning with an exhilarating game drive after breakfast, soaking in the final moments of the abundant wildlife in Masai Mara Reserve.

Later in the morning, embark on your journey back to Nairobi, enjoying lunch en route. This marks the conclusion of your memorable safari adventure.
